Dr. Chelsey Aitken-Wren DC

CHIROPRACTOR

Dr. Chelsey Aitken-Wren is originally from Ashland, Missouri and is extremely happy to be serving the community of Columbia, Missouri. Dr. Chelsey was introduced to chiropractic during her teenage years, then again after a whiplash injury in college. She had such amazing results through chiropractic care that Dr. Chelsey decided to pursue chiropractic as her profession. Dr. Chelsey received her Bachelor’s degree in Life Science at Logan University then went on to receive her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Chelsey is a member of the American Chiropractic Association (ACA). Outside the office Dr. Chelsey enjoys spending time with husband, son, family, and friends, baking, and playing with her dogs.

Dr.Chelsey spends a lot of time educating her patients. Chiropractic is about natural, preventive healthcare and wellness. The educational process is important; it teaches the patient and gives them the tools to take responsibility for their own health. Wellness care encompasses several aspects of overall health, which can be physical, nutritional, emotional and spiritual.

Dr. Steven Tavernaro DC

CHIROPRACTOR

 

Dr. Steven Tavernaro “Dr. Steve” received a Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic - Davenport; accompanying Master of Science in Psychology. Through personal experience, Dr. Tavernaro gravitates toward patient care with an emphasis on manual adjusting, trigger point therapy, and targeted exercises addressing the root of pathology. He believes chiropractic physician’s help people heal in addition to identifying and adapting the necessary tools/knowledge patients require to empower themselves; feeling even better than they did pre-injury.

Dr. Steve began the study of human biomechanics through the lens of chiropractic philosophy in order to better understand the cause of pathology and biomechanical dysfunction. Dr. Tavernaro was bestowed Virgil V. Strang Chiropractic Philosophy Award June 2020, Delta Sigma Chi Outstanding Graduate and Delta Sigma Chi Fraternal Service Award(s) (2020). Dr. Tavernaro has received additional training in Blair [upper cervical technique], Atlas Orthogonal [upper cervical technique], Cox Flexion Distraction, Thompson technique, Gonstead technique, Toggle technique, Palmer package, NIMMO, Activator, and soft tissue extremities management.

Dr. Tavernaro moved back to Missouri [most recently Columbia] after serving as a DoD contractor in various locations of the United States. The last assignment in Colorado amplified a love of mountains and the outdoors. Dr. Steve often spends free time hiking, altitude SCUBA diving, skiing, hunting, and mountain biking. Most importantly, watching his children grow and equally embrace a love of learning and outdoors. Dr. Tavernaro is a current member of the International Chiropractic Association, Missouri Chiropractic Physicians Association, Delta Sigma Chi fraternal alumnus, Knights of Columbus – Sir Knight, Palmer Chiropractic College alumnus and Bricklayers and Allied Crafts Local 15 MO/KS/NE member.

 

Dr. Eric Schumacher DC

CHIROPRACTOR

Dr. Eric Schumacher is originally from Fargo, ND and excited to be a recent resident in Columbia, MO. Dr. Eric was first introduced to chiropractic care when he was 4 years old, after getting into a car accident with his mother and sister. He remembers having such a wonderful experience with chiropractic care and decided to pursue it as a career. Dr. Eric received his Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences at North Dakota State then went on to receive his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Texas Chiropractic College in Houston, TX. Dr. Eric has an extensive knowledge in adjustment and soft tissue techniques, such as Diversified and Gonstead. He is also certified in the Activator Method as well. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Eric enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as playing video games and sports, such as football, baseball, and basketball. Most importantly being involved in his church and watching his two sons grow up and follow their dreams. Dr.Eric is excited to make Columbia his home and committed to providing effective and quality care for our patients.
